It’s official: Walker County EMS is on call.
Walker County has 32 people now hired to run the emergency ambulance service. There are 19 additional paramedics and 11 emergency medical transport intermediates who have been added to the county’s roster of Emergency Services providers.
According to Chief Camp, Walker County EMS became active as soon as the ceremony began about 7 a.m. and is now on call. There will be five ambulance vehicles to serve Walker County, and the firefighters will be cross-trained to be EMT’s and vice-versa.
Citizens who need an ambulance would call 911 and Walker EMS will be on its way.
We will be there,” Camp said. “We will be professional. We will be courteous. We will take care of your problem and we will do the best job that we can.”
